Watch: PHN Penguins Postgame–Why Rodrigues Clicks with Crosby in 5-2 Pens Win

The Pittsburgh Penguins have won five in a row, and they had a similar formula again on Tuesday as they beat the Monreal Canadiens, 5-2 at PPG Paints Arena. PHN Editor-in-Chief Dan Kingerski broke down the win in which Evan Rodrigues had three points and Sidney Crosby had two, the Penguins defensemen scored two goals, and the Penguins eventually buckled Montreal.

Rodrigues has been on a tear. He tied his career-high with his ninth goal and is approaching his career-high in points. Rodrigues set his career-best 29 points in 2018-19 when he played 74 games. He’s already at 22 points (9-13-22) in 28 games.

“Confidence. I’ve said it time and time again. It’s just opportunity and confidence…,” Rodrigues told PHN. 

Kingerski dove into why Rodrigues and Crosby are working so well, and what Rodrigues is doing that past linemates have not.

Dan also recognized the Pittsburgh Penguins defensemen who had only four goals this season before Dumoulin and Mike Matheson tallied on Tuesday. And, you know Kingerski likes the fourth liners.
