The Penguins looked slow and were watching the puck. That’s not just your opinion but also Penguins center Lars Eller’s. He also lambasted his team’s performance in the first two periods. However, the Penguins put on a furious charge in the third period, outshooting Ottawa 23-1 in the final 20 minutes.

Rickard Rakell scored his first goal of the season, and Sidney Crosby was again the Penguins’ backbone, even when things were going terribly.

The Penguins locker room felt a little better about themselves after the dominating final frame. Still, Kingerski wasn’t willing to write off the wasted opportunity or the number of poor performances. Nor were the readers.

From Radim Zohorna to Evgeni Malkin, Ryan Graves to Rakell, there was plenty to discuss.
