CRANBERRYJack St. Ivany, one of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ most promising defense prospects, was recalled from their farm team in Wilkes-Barre and participated in the team’s practice at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex Friday.

The Penguins also assigned Ryan Shea to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, three days after he was summoned to the NHL.

St. Ivany, signed as a free agent in 2022 by former Penguins GM Ron Hextall, is 6-foot-3, 198 pounds and 24 years old.

St. Ivany has put up four goals and eight assists in 52 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

He was Philadelphia’s fourth-round draft choice in 2018, when Hextall was GM of the Flyers.

Coach Mike Sullivan did not say whether St. Ivany will be in the lineup when the Penguins face the New York Rangers Saturday afternoon at PPG Paints Arena.
