Penguins Practice: ZAR Back, Everyone Accounted For

For Penguins practice Wednesday, the theme was the gang’s all here at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex.

Winger Kasper Bjorkqvist, whose recall from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League was announced Wednesday morning, was on the ice.

So was winger Zach Aston-Reese, did not practice Tuesday, with coach Mike Sullivan saying the winger took a maintenance day.

Center Teddy Blueger skated before practice but then joined the team for the second straight day, albeit again in a non-contact jersey and with the added contraption to protect his surgically repaired jaw.

Blueger joined practice Tuesday for the first time, although Sullivan said the low- to no-contact  nature of that workout allowed Blueger to participate and that his status had not changed. He did not participate in line rushes Wednesday.

The Penguins did not do line rushes Tuesday.

Ahead of a home game Thursday against the New Jersey Devils, the lines and pairings Wednesday looked like this (no changes):

Jake Guentzel-Sidney Crosby-Bryan Rust

Danton Heinen-Evgeni Malkin-Jeff Carter

Brock McGinn-Evan Rodrigues-Kasperi Kapanen

Zach Aston-Reese–Brian Boyle-Dominik Simon

Brian Dumoulin-Kris Letang

Marcus Pettersson-John Marino

Mike Matheson-Chad Ruhwedel
