Pittsburgh Penguins giveaways

The Pittsburgh Penguins do not need to light the sky with fireworks or provide an abundance of chachkies to sell tickets. A several years-long sellouts streak and star players such as Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin will create a good ticket base. But just in case, the Penguins are still offering a few cool goodies this season to keep the ticket-buying folks happy.

First, the Penguins will dish Mike Lange bobbleheads on Tuesday, Oct. 8 when Penguins host the Winnipeg Jets. If you don’t want your bobblehead, please send them to the PHN offices, c/o Dan Kingerski. The days of colorful, fun announcers are over and we’ll just hang onto Lange for as long as wants.

Hanson Brother’s glasses are the prize on Wednesday, Oct. 16 against the Colorado Avalanche. Old-time hockey, coach!

The Penguins will also give out Jim Rutherford bobbleheads on Tuesday, Nov. 19 as the Penguins host the team which bounced them from Round One of the playoffs in April, the New York Islanders.

Given social media reaction to Rutherford over the past two summers, perhaps we’ll avoid any further comment.

For any fathers who didn’t get socks for Father’s Day, or don’t plan to receive socks for Christmas or Hannukah, the Penguins will also giveaway Penguins socks on Monday, Nov. 25 when the team hosts the Calgary Flames.

It’s almost as if the team set their giveaways for early season, early week, Western Conference opponents, or in the case of the New York Islanders, a less than exciting opponent. There will also be a bevy of theme nights and small giveaways throughout the season.
