BUFFALO — Beef on Weck with a side of wings is a Buffalo staple. It combines a little saltiness and spice, and so did the Pittsburgh Penguins prospects team as they beat the Boston Bruins 6-3 at Harbor Center Friday.

The Penguins fell behind 3-1 in the first period. 2022 first-round pick Owen Pickering was in the eye of the storm, though he might have the worst luck of any Penguins defenseman.

Pickering was in front of the net, albeit helpless on two of the three goals.

However, the Penguins prospects visibly increased their engagement and tilted the ice through most of the second period, scoring four unanswered goals.

And yes, the top two Penguins’ forward prospects factored well. Despite the bad tape, we’ll offer a Day 1 grade on Pickering, too.
