The Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday announced details for this year’s development camp, which will be held July 6-10 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry.

All on-ice sessions, including a four-on-four tournament July 10 to conclude the camp, are free and open to the public.

For fans clamoring to see the Penguins give some of their prospects a shot — yes, we hear you — this will be a good chance to see some of the top names. Among those expected to attend are first-round picks Owen Pickering (2022) and Brayden Yager (2023), 2024 NCAA champion Tristan Broz, recently acquired prospects Ville Koivunen and Cruz Lucuis, and most likely picks from next week’s NHL draft.

The Pittsburgh Penguins prospects will be divided into three groups. In addition to the on-ice sessions, there will be off-ice activities and presentations that help serve as an orientation to being a pro player.

There also will be a Dek Hockey clinic at DICK’s House of Sport in the Ross Park Mall. The Boys and Girls Club and the Special Olympics Dek Hockey team will attend, and Penguins players will be distributing PensFIT equipment.

Details on the Hockey clinic, as well as a full roster for the development camp, will be announced later.
