Penguins Recall Jarry, Send Three to Wilkes-Barre

Tristan Jarry is back on the Pittsburgh Penguins’ roster.

Whether he’ll still be there the next time they play a game, which will be Feb. 22 against Washington at PPG Paints Arena, remains to be seen.

The Penguins recalled Jarry from their farm team in Wilkes-Barre shortly after their 3-2 loss in Philadelphia Saturday night, their final game before the NHL’s break for the Four Nations tournament.

At the same time, they announced that they were sending goalie Joel Blomqvist, who made 17 saves in the game against the Flyers, and forwards Vasily Ponomarev and Emil Bemstrom to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

The Penguins are not scheduled to have any team activity until a practice Feb. 18 at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, and it’s quite possible they will make some personnel changes leading up to — or in the days following — that workout.

Jarry was assigned to Wilkes-Barre Jan. 16, after he passed through waivers unclaimed.

He also had a conditioning stint with the Baby Penguins earlier in the season.

In nine appearances in the American Hockey League in 2024-25, Jarry is 6-3, with a 2.11 goals-against average and .924 save percentage. He made 31 stops in a 3-0 victory against Bridgeport Friday night in his most recent start for Wilkes-Barre.

Jarry was 8-8-4, with a 3.26 goals-against average and .886 save percentage, in 22 games with the Penguins before being demoted.
