Crosby Continues Assault on All-Time Lists With Big Game
Stop us if you’ve heard things like this before. No, don’t stop us. Just ride with it, the way that Pittsburgh Penguins captain and future Hall of Fame center Sidney Crosby rides with his assault on all sorts of records and milestones.
He bagged a couple more in one game Thursday in the Penguins’ game against the visiting Edmonton Oilers.
With a goal in the second period, Crosby, 37, tied Bobby Hull for the sixth-most goals with one franchise in NHL history, 604. Add that to his two assists in the first and he tied Joe Sakic for the fifth-most points with one franchise in league history, 1,641.
He figured in on three of the Penguins five goals through two periods. The Penguins led 5-3 going into the third.
Among his accomplishments earlier this season, he hit the 600-goal mark and reached the 1,600-point plateau.
I’m surprised that there are no comments yet! But then again, we maybe take Sid for granted a little bit and just expect these kinds of articles every day/week/month now. Crosby doesn’t ever stop putting his name in the record book!
He is the gift that keeps on giving. I’ve run out of adjectives and adverbs to describe his magic.
