NEW YORK — Jake Guentzel is convinced that his line, which includes Sidney Crosby and Bryan Rust, can be one of the best in the National Hockey League.

Their numbers for the Pittsburgh Penguins make it hard to disagree. After all, those three combined for 95 goals and 131 assists in 205 man-games during the regular season.

Of course, the New York Rangers, who the Pittsburgh Penguins will face in Game 1 of their opening-round playoff series Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden, are keenly aware of how much offense Crosby’s line can generate.

That’s why coach Gerard Gallant will make shutting that unit down one of his top priorities in the series.
