Sidney Crosby chooses his words carefully when addressing hockey or league-wide issues, but the Pittsburgh Penguins captain’s message about the latest spotlight on safety equipment was pretty clear.

The New York Islanders’ Johnny Boychuk got cut in the face by a skate Tuesday night, throwing safety equipment back into the conversation for NHL players. Specifically, should full facial protection become mandatory?
