Pittsburgh Penguins analysis, Buffalo Sabres

Pittsburgh Hockey Now editor-in-chief Dan Kingerski joined 93-7 the Fan host Paul Zeise to break down the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 shootout loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday night.

The Penguins rallied from three separate one-goal deficits, but Buffalo outshot and outchanced the Penguins, which “didn’t have their legs,” according to Kingerski.

The Penguins had won five of their last six games, and now have points in six of their last seven. They trail the Carolina Hurricanes by two points in the Metro Division, but Carolina has two games in hand.

It’s always a good chat when Dan joins Paul. The pair also veered into Rickard Rakell, the Penguins NHL trade deadline acquisition, and what it means that Rakell spent some time on Sidney Crosby’s line Wednesday night.

For the record, when Rakell replaced Evan Rodrigues on Crosby’s right wing for about six minutes, the line outshot Buffalo 3-0, and had three scoring chances, according to NaturalStatTrick.com.
