Penguins Sign Journeyman Defenseman Caleb Jones

The Penguins added their second defenseman of the day Tuesday when they signed free agent journeyman Caleb Jones.
Jones, 28 and a left-handed shot, signed for two years with an average annual value of $900,000.
He is still looking to fully establish himself in the NHL. He has played parts of seven seasons in the NHL, with Colorado, Chicago, Edmonton and, the 2024-25 season, with Los Angeles. The 6-foot-1, 194-pounder has 14 goals, 55 points in 248 career NHL games.
He played mostly in the American Hockey League last season. He has played 181 games in the AHL after originally being drafted by Edmonton in the fourth round in 2015.
Jones also has played for Team USA at times and was a part of the gold-medal teams at the 2015 under-18 World Championship and the 2017 world juniors.
The Penguins earlier Tuesday added defenseman Parker Wotherspoon.
Don’t understand the 2 years deals on these guys. Will these caliber of players NOT be available again this time next year???
We’re probably tanking for at least 2 years. Put out garbage and pray for McKenna and DuPont, then pray again that I’m still alive to see them succeed in Pittsburgh
Chill, brah. 2008 is right around the corner . . .
Check that. I meant 2028 . . .
Hope this signing turns out to be better than it looks.
Still gotta stock WBS, no?
Stick tap for Neddy. Dude played his ass off, and win or lose, he was always accountable.
Hard to ‘develop’ a 28 year old, but no loss if he ends up playing in WBS.
Does Kyle Dubas follow the nhl at all? Or is he just an F1 guy…..
Hey, Duby finished second in one of his fantasy leagues last season, I’ll have you know!
