Pittsburgh Penguins Winter Classic

The Pittsburgh Penguins will play in their first Winter Classic since 2011 when they visit the Boston Bruins at Fenway Park on Jan. 2. Winter Classic tickets will go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Limited tickets are on sale through the NHL. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis through Ticketmaster.

The 2023 Winter Classic is the 15th anniversary of the first Classic, which was in Buffalo. The Penguins beat the Buffalo Sabres when Sidney Crosby scored one of his most famous goals; with snow falling, Crosby scored a shootout goal.

The Winter Classic will mark the fifth time the Bruins will play in an NHL regular-season outdoor game, as well as the second time the NHL has played a regular-season outdoor game at Fenway Park following the 2010 NHL Winter Classic between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Bruins, which won the game 2-1 in overtime.

The game will be the sixth regular-season outdoor game for the Penguins, which lost to the Flyers 4-3 in OT at the 2019 NHL Stadium Series at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins reassembled their aging cores for another shot at the Stanley Cup. While the Penguins re-signed Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang to multi-year deals, the Bruins re-signed Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci to one-year deals.

The Winter Classic will be televised on TNT, Sportsnet, and TVA Sports.
