Penguins Trade Anthony Beauvillier to Capitals
The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded forward Anthony Beauvillier to Washington.
The initial report came from Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, a Canadian network.
The return for Beauvillier is Washington’s second-round draft choice in 2025.
Beauvillier has 13 goals and seven assists in 63 games with the Penguins this season. Last season, he split between three teams, the Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks, and Nashville Predators.
He signed a one-year contract with the Penguins as a free agent last summer and is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent July 1.

This is legit insane for a guy who, though a solid player, had an 82 game have if 17 goals and only 26 points. And is a rental?
Me neither. I figured he was staying, but to get that he had to pull the trigger.
They could have used him next year. I don’t think he would have cost too much to resign. For those happy with the trade, I don’t want to hear anything about lack of bottom 6 scoring next year!
Could always re-sign him in the offseason unless Caps offer him.

Although I loved Tito in the 60+ games he played for the Pens, getting a 2nd round pick for what could end up as 20 regular season games with the Caps, an incredible deal

Obviously I was kidding about Mike Johnston but imo (no joke) if there is a single change that could drastically transform this teams direction it would be to replace Sully

The second round pick is really great, however, hated giving him away, especially to the capitals! I thought for sure Tito was going to be available and part of the younger generation retooling! I hope the capitals go out in the first round, and we resign him in the off-season!
I’m honestly hoping the Pens just let the AHL kids compete next season. I feel like one of them could easily make up for that production.
