Penguins Make First Round of Training-Camp Cuts

The Pittsburgh Penguins pared their training-camp roster to 56 with a pair of moves Monday.

They returned defenseman Isaac Belliveau to Gatineau of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and defenseman Ryan McCleary to Portland of the Western Hockey League.

The Penguins had a day off Monday and will face Detroit in a preseason game Tuesday at 7:08 p.m. at PPG Paints Arena after splitting an exhibition double-header with Columbus Sunday.

Imagine how many players try to make the NHL, NBA, NBA and MLB every year! Always wonder what they do when they realize they aren’t going to ever make it! The NCAA is the same way! 10,000 scholarship athletes turn into what? Guess we just need to enjoy watching the gifted who provide us with their exciting skills game after game every year!
