Broz’s Career Objective (Sort of): Disappoint His Mom (+)

CRANBERRY — Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Tristan Broz’s mother is sure to be thrilled and proud when her son makes it to the National Hockey League.

Especially if he doesn’t do it too soon.

It seems that Mom is intent on Broz earning that Business degree he plans to pursue at the University of Denver, to which he transferred after spending his freshman year at Minnesota.

Trouble is, Broz, who was the Penguins’ second-round draft choice in 2021, wants to begin cashing professional paychecks as soon as possible, regardless of whether he has a diploma to show for his time in college.

So while he doesn’t have any immediate plans to turn pro, Broz made it clear after Day 2 of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ development camp at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex that he’d like to do so at the earliest opportunity.
