Tristan Jarry Save, Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins led the New Jersey Devils 4-1 early in the third period of their win on Sunday night. After Jake Guentzel scored a power-play goal to give the Penguins a three-goal lead, New Jersey pressed, but Tristan Jarry held the pipes.

Jarry’s save helped to preserve the Penguins’ third straight win as their playoff march continued.

A few minutes into the final frame, Yegor Sharangovich was alone in front. New Jersey worked a play from an offensive zone faceoff. Sharangovich jumped past the Penguins defensemen, deked Jarry, and went top shelf for what looked like a sure goal.

Except it wasn’t.

Crosby cleanly won the faceoff and pulled it back, but Sharangovich jumped on it.

The save was one of 28 Tristan Jarry made on Sunday night, including 12 in the second period, during the Penguins 5-2 win over New Jersey on Sunday at the Prudential Center.

The Pittsburgh Penguins goalie improved his record to 17-8-2 and the Penguins have won three in a row.
