Progress: Jarry faces shots during on-ice workout
Tristan Jarry took another step toward returning to the Pittsburgh Penguins’ lineup Monday morning.
He had his second on-ice workout since breaking a bone in his foot and, after a series of drills, faced shots from goaltending coach Andy Chiodo.
The shots, it should be noted, were not particularly hard or challenging, but they still mark a meaningful bit of progress in Jarry’s recovery.
Jarry is the Penguins’ No. 1 goalie and his backup, Casey DeSmith, will miss the rest of the season after undergoing core muscle surgery last week, so Louis Domingue has become the team’s go-to guy for their opening-round playoff series against the New York Rangers.
Domingue is scheduled to be in goal for Game 4 tonight at 7 at PPG Paints Arena.
Igor Shesterkin, who was chased from Game 3 after allowing four goals in the first period, will get the start for New York.
I’m thinking Jarry is done unless Pens go the second round.
Just in…..Barry Trotz fired
Lou-ie Lou-ie has been solid between the pipes. No need to screw it up now. Far more concerned about the support in front of him.
