Penguins Postgame: Small Details Reveal Big Things
The Pittsburgh Penguins didn’t necessarily disagree with the notion that their effort during a 5-1 loss to Boston Saturday at TD Garden was better than the ones they had put forth in some recent games, but they were adamant that that was missing the point.
The real story of the game, they contended, was the Penguins’ occasional lapses in attention to detail, which led to things like sloppy line changes and defensive breakdowns that often led to pucks ending up behind goalie Alex Nedeljkovic.
Coach Mike Sullivan said a few players learned the lesson the hard way about what winning hockey looks like. PHN’s Dan Kingerski says missed chances, ill-timed laziness, and other misfortunes are beginning to reveal a bigger picture about this Penguins team.

I am dumb founded as to why the coaching staff doesn’t see this. WHAT are the observing when watching the game? Sadly, they do not know what they know…. BIG… Read more »
