Penguins vs. Devils Betting Prediction (April 11, 2021)
The Pittsburgh Penguins found themselves in a bit of an unexpected track meet against the upstart Devils on Friday night, but they prevailed by holding on for 6-4 win. The victory pulled the Penguins within two points of first place in the East Division.
Let’s take a look at this East Division contest, the fourth meeting of the season between these long-time rivals, from a betting perspective in our Penguins vs. Devils betting preview with odds, picks and player prop predictions.
Penguins vs. Devils Betting Prediction
The Penguins got their offense from their top line against the Devils as Sidney Crosby, Bryan Rust and Jake Guentzel combined for eight points in the win. That trio, along with defenseman Kris Letang, who has been piling up points lately, continues to carry a Pittsburgh offense that has been without Evgeni Malkin, Kasperi Kapanen and Teddy Bluegar.

Meanwhile, the Devils are starting to see the fruits of their rebuild and may have found a bona fide top line combination in Jack Hughes, Janne Kuokkanen and Yegor Sharangovich. The trio teamed up for another goal against Pittsburgh on Friday night and now have 12 points combined in four games since coming together.
The Devils are relying on their new top line as well, but also had help from Miles Wood, who scored a pair of goals in the loss to Pittsburgh, as well as Jesper Bratt, who has five points in four games against the Penguins this season.
Notably, the Devils power play has netted three goals in the last two games, and that power play has been spearheaded by New Jersey’s leading scorer Pavel Zacha, who scored two of those goals.

Bets We Like With a Penguins Win
Kris Letang OVER 0.5 assists (+108, FanDuel)
Letang has been racking up the assists. He has totaled 15 assists in his last 15 games. That alone should make this a good bet. But, with all of Pittsburgh’s current injuries, Letang has been deployed more offensively lately and has five multi-assist efforts in the last eight games. This seems like a no-brainer.

Bets We Like With a Devils Win
Pavel Zacha OVER 0.5 power play points (+220, FanDuel)
The New Jersey power play isn’t all that productive, which is why the odds are so heavily stacked against Zacha even registering one point on the power play. However, this unit has been better in recent games, netting three goals in its last three games. Zacha has two of those goals and is the Devils’ leading scorer on the season.
If the Devils get some opportunities, they will look to find Zacha to get shots on goal. With these odds, it’s worth a play.
Bets We Like Independent of Outcome
Sidney Crosby 2+ points (+150, DraftKings)
Crosby is still the straw that stirs the drink in Pittsburgh and has been carrying the offense lately. He has 18 points (5 goals, 13 assists) in his last 11 games. More importantly, he has had at least two points in six of those 11 games. Notably, he also has two multi-point games against the Devils this season.
Penguins vs. Devils Pick
The Penguins are the better team and are 13-5-1 since March 1 against the teams behind them in the standings, meaning they win the games they are supposed to win — at least more often than not.
This will be another one of those games. Call it Penguins 4, Devils 2.
