Watch: PHN Postgame, How and Why the Penguins Lost

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins had 50 shots and 13 high-danger scoring chances, but they trailed 3-1 in the final minutes before losing 6-3 to the Montreal Canadiens at PPG Paints Arena on Saturday night.

The Penguins indeed spent enough time in the offensive zone, but the game was about the quality of chances given up to Montreal vs. the Penguins’ shot volume.

Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan lamented the volume of high-quality chances given up, even as he praised his team for getting chances, too.

Dan Kingerski breaks down the hows and why of the Pittsburgh Penguins loss. What things are lacking (and have been), and who is playing well.
