History is on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ side as they host the Chicago Bears at 8:15 p.m. Monday at Heinz Field, and there are a few Steelers bets we like, too.

The last time the Steelers lost at home on Monday Night Football, they called Three Rivers Stadium home. Heinz Field wasn’t even a concept.

That loss, 23-20 to the New York Giants, came on Oct. 14, 1991. Neil O’Donnell threw touchdown passes to Louis Lipps and Eric Green in a losing cause.

The Steelers have won 19 games in a row on MNF in Pittsburgh, including never losing at Heinz Field, which opened in 2001.

However, the Steelers have lost three straight games against the Bears. The last matchup came in 2017 in Chicago as Pittsburgh fell in overtime in a game most noted for Alejandro Villanueva standing on the field during the national anthem while the rest of the Steelers stayed in the tunnel at Soldier Field.

Bears – Steelers Bets Preview

The Steelers (4-3) have won three games in a row to nudge their record above .500. A lot of that has to do with an improved offense.

During their winning streak, the Steelers are averaging 368.7 total yards a game. They have also rushed for at least 100 yards each time after doing so only once in their previous 16 games.

Better play by a young and rebuilt offensive line has made a big difference. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been sacked four times in the last three games after being taken down 10 times in the first four games.

Meanwhile, the Bears (3-5) have allowed 30 sacks in eight games this season, meaning Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt and friends could have a field day chasing down rookie quarterback Justin Fields. In each game of their three-game losing streak, Chicago QBs have been sacked four times.

Last week, fields showed signs of progress in a 33-22 loss to the San Francisco 49ers as he rushed for 103 yards and passed for 175 yards. He became the first Bears quarterback with a 100-yard rushing game since Bobby Douglass in 1973.

However, the Bears are the only team in the NFL with more rushing yards than passing yards. And their problems aren’t limited to the offense, as the defense has been torched for over 30 points and 400 total yards in consecutive games.

Steelers -6.5 (-106) Barstool

These two teams are trending in opposite directions. Throw in the Steelers’ amazing Monday night winning streak, and it’s a no-brainer to lay the points.

Under 40 (-113) Barstool

The total in this game is very low. Yet hitting the under is attractive considering the Bears are last in the NFL in passing offense, and the Steelers have yet to score more than 27 points in a game this season.

Prediction

The Steelers’ Monday Night Magic continues. It may not be the most exciting game of the year, though, as it is hard to envision Fields and the Bears moribund offense having much success against the Steelers.
