Resilience Makes a Comeback, Sullivan is Enjoying these Penguins

Pittsburgh Penguins Mike Sullivan

Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan should like his team. After all, they were built in his image, at least the ones who aren’t in the trainer’s room, on the surgeon’s table or hobbling around on one-legged carts. The Penguins won their fourth straight game on Friday night despite a depleted lineup which should be near the bottom of the conference, not in a playoff position.

Earlier in the week, national analyst Pierre McGuire heaped praise on Sullivan as the presumptive Coach of the Year. In fact, McGuire said there shouldn’t be any other candidates. The Penguins are now seven points ahead of Buffalo and Florida for a playoff position. They’re eight points ahead of Toronto and Tampa Bay.

Even Sullivan seems to be enjoying himself through adversity.
