In the world of youth hockey, Hollidaysburg is a stone’s throw from Pittsburgh. When families and players sometimes drive four or more hours for a single game, the expense and effort to play hockey is a grind. And the game certainly isn’t easy, either. Pittsburgh Penguins rookie Sam Lafferty is from Hollidaysburg and his family and the travel were the memories he took with him onto the ice for his first NHL game.

Lafferty made the show as friends and family poured into the PPG Paints Arena Tuesday night to see his debut. By his estimate, there were too many to count. And the stream won’t stop Thursday night, either.
