Pittsburgh Penguins, Sidney Crosby goal

Sidney Crosby didn’t make a big show by figuratively throwing a monkey off his back, and his celebration was not a big, cathartic celly. Nonetheless, the 487th goal of Crosby’s career probably felt pretty good.

In Penguins game No. 16, but just Crosby’s fourth game of the season, the Penguins captain created a turnover at center ice. Linemates Bryan Rust and Jake Guentzel quickly transitioned with Crosby.

A quick tic-tac-toe play ensued as Rust fed Guentzel, who handed the easy goal back to Crosby (1). Poor Montreal Canadiens goalie Cayden Primeau, the son of former NHL’er Keith Primeau, was taken out by his own defensemen:

Crosby had wrist surgery on the eve of training camp and is just getting into form.

This week, the Pittsburgh Penguins also got more good news when head coach Mike Sullivan reported that Evgeni Malkin is getting closer to a return to play.
