Sidney Crosby has been dominant since the Pittsburgh Penguins roster was depleted by injuries just two games into the season. Monday, Crosby was named the NHL third star for the week which ended on Oct. 13 after he scored seven points in four games, including three goals.

The Penguins were 3-1 last week.

Crosby scored the first goal of the game in two straight games beginning Tuesday against Winnipeg and Thursday against Anaheim. He assisted on the opening goal Saturday in Minnesota. Crosby also had three multi-point games and has scored a point in all six Penguins games this season. Two of Crosby’s multi-point games were in back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday in Minnesota and Winnipeg.

Only Winnipeg Jet winger Patrick Laine had more points last week than Crosby. Laine popped for eight points.

Sidney Crosby has 10 points this season (3g, 7a) and is tied for fourth in NHL scoring. He is tied with Penguins defenseman Kris Letang for the longest scoring streak in the NHL this season. Each has a six-game streak.

The Penguins home-heavy October schedule continues Wednesday night when they host the Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars and Vegas Golden Knights. All three games begin at 7:00 PM at PPG Paints Arena.
