A Crosby Summer: More Hockey and a Stanley Cup Party

The BM63 hat might have been the most Brad Marchand-type thing, and the most un-Sidney Crosby-type thing this summer.

After schooling the San Jose Sharks’ young players on the ice in the morning, Crosby and his buddy Nathan MacKinnon rolled up on a Stanley Cup party hosted by Marchand. Crosby had to wear the hat in honor of Marchand’s Stanley Cup victory with the Florida Panthers.

Of course, it might also be to honor the 37-year-old Marchand’s whopping six-year contract extension with Florida, too.

Nathan MacKinnon famously challenged Crosby to be the drunkest man at MacKinnon’s 2022 Stanley Cup party because MacKinnon achieved that feat at Crosby’s 2017 party. The three share one important commonality, as they are all from the Halifax area, Crosby from Cole Harbour, while MacKinnon and Marchand are from across the bay in Halifax.

There’s no word on how many of Crosby’s brain cells may have escaped harm at Marchand’s party, though we’re all a little worse off for seeing those hats.

However, it wouldn’t be a Crosby summer without a good bit of hockey, too. The Sharks’ youngsters, Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith, decided it would be kids vs. vets on the ice. It appears Drake Batherson (though we’re not sure) and Noah Dobson completed the three-on-three game.

Betting money is on Crosby winning, though no score was announced.
