SITE NEWS! PHN Creating Full-Sports Pittsburgh Outlet, Largest in Decades

Published

on

Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Steelers

Now, let me tell you some fantastic news. Soon your subscription will have fully staffed professional coverage of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

A full-service sports outlet. Here we go!

We’ll share more details as we make final decisions on upgrades and new carpets. You’ll see more publicity with an ad campaign, some fun videos, and whatever other promotional hoopla this childhood carnival barker can muster. National Hockey Now LLC, including Pittsburgh Hockey Now (this here website), has agreed to purchase SteelersNow.com and PittsburghBaseballNow.com.

Those sites are green but growing. There’s some great talent already on board. We’ll be adding more great talent, making a few changes to increase their mainstream penetration, and creating a full-service Pittsburgh sports outlet. It’s the first new local sports outlet not individually built and will be the largest outlet created in decades.

Dave Molinari, Shelly Anderson, Chris Carter…Dan Kingerski. My first order will be adding more great Steelers content. I’m curious who you like. Tell me in the comments.

We’re also efforting to keep the existing writers in the fold.

This has been a wild ride. I remember one of the very first events I covered under my own banner after leaving 93-7 the Fan, an established media person derisively waved goodbye and mocked the site. That person wasn’t alone. But, I suppose I’m the wrong person to tell it can’t be done. Five years later, we’re all in.

ALL IN.

And you made it happen. New subscriptions will be available, and we’ll make more announcements soon. (The new price will reflect the more extensive staff, so get in now! Subscribe to PHN+)

Oh, and more cities will be coming, too.

THANK YOU!

so looking forward to the future of PHN. i had subscribed to another site, self-built—-slowly the excellent writers left and i was contemplating leaving as well….then said site hired HOFer Dave Molinari and i continued….but as what seemed to always happen, this excellent writer left and i decided enough. so very happy that i now subscribe to PHN and not only get the excellent hockey coverage, but will find Steeler coverage as well…..

Funny Charmaine, your story pretty much echos mine. I left said other site and only re-joined when Dave was added to it. And they managed to drive him away, too. My subscription expired at the end of the month to said other site, and this one will be getting my money instead.

Thanks for sharing. I felt I wasn’t alone about what was going on at the other site and glad to hear you feel the same. There were numerous comments on the other site feeling just like we do.

Too much nasty commentators on that site. If you didnt agree with them it was name calling. Commenters here are much more civil and knowledgeable

No doubt Mr. Excitement and The King will take this site to unprecedented heights. I just want to know the name of the jamoke who dissed it . . .

Will I be able to only get the Penguin coverage? I could care less about the Steelers or pirates.

I’ve been thinking about joining – because of the quality of the writers….wondering what is being done (of course, you can’t divulge all specifics and secrets!) to ensure writers stay for long-term rather than come and go?
