Pittsburgh Steelers Cincinnati Bengals

It is an important AFC North matchup for the Pittsburgh Steelers when they visit the Cincinnati Bengals at 1 p.m. Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium. After losing to the Chargers, the Steelers betting lines offer a few good values.

The Steelers (5-4-1) are in third place in the bunched-up division standings behind the Baltimore Ravens (7-3) and Bengals (6-4), with seven games remaining. The Cleveland Browns (6-5) are last despite having a winning record.

The Steelers will also look to avenge a 24-10 loss to the Bengals on Sept. 26 in Week 3 at Heinz Field. Joe Burrow was an efficient 14-of-18 passing for 172 and three touchdowns for the Bengals, who intercepted Ben Roethlisberger twice and sacked him four times.

After winning 11 straight games against the Bengals, the Steelers have lost two in a row. They were upset 27-17 last season in Week 15 at Cincinnati as 14 ½-point favorites.

Steelers Betting Preview

The Steelers hope to get on track after two disappointing games in a row. They lost a 41-37 shootout to the Los Angeles Chargers last week on the road after tying the winless Detroit Lions 16-16 at home two weeks ago.

The defense was roasted for 533 total yards by the Chargers, the most the Steelers had given up since the New England Patriots gained 610 in 2013. Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert had 472 yards of total offense, 382 passing, and 90 rushing.

The Steelers will get two of their top defenders back this week as outside linebacker T.J. Watt (hip, knee) and cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick (COVID-19/reserve list) sat out in Los Angeles. Cornerback Joe Haden (foot) has been upgraded to questionable after also missing last week’s game.

The Steelers, though, need better play from inside linebackers Devin Bush and Joe Schobert. Both struggled against the Chargers and could be exploited by Bengals running back Joe Mixon, who had 90 yards rushing against the Steelers in September.

Last week, Mixon broke out of a mini-slump in the Bengals’ 32-13 victory over the Raiders in Las Vegas. He rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on a season-high 30 carries after having 97 yards combined in the two previous games, losses to the Browns and New York Jets.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger bounced back nicely against the Chargers, throwing for 273 yards and three TDs, after missing the tie with Lions when he tested positive for the coronavirus. The 39-year-old has a 104.3 passer rating over the last five games with nine touchdowns and no interceptions.

Steelers Bets We Like

Steelers +3.5 (-108) Barstool Sportsbook

The Steelers defense should get a boost from the return of Watt and Fitzpatrick while Roethlisberger is playing well. And the Bengals haven’t won three games in a row against the Steelers since reeling off six straight victories from 1988-90.

Look for the Steelers to keep things close.

Najee Harris to score a TD -150 (BetMGM)

Why does it seem like this is a Bet We Like every week? Well, because it is.

The Steelers rookie running back has scored a touchdown in eight of 11 games this season, including seven of the last eight. Harris did not find the end zone against the Bengals in Week 3 but set a franchise record for running backs with 14 receptions.

Steelers Prediction

It might be premature to call this a must-win game for the Steelers, but a victory would certainly help their playoff chances. They’ll come close but won’t get the needed W in Cincinnati.
