Rookie Kenny Pickett will make his third career start for the Steelers (2-4). He left a 20-18 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Acrisure Stadium in the third quarter with a concussion and did not return. The win snapped Pittsburgh’s four-game losing streak.

Mitch Trubisky came on in relief of Pickett and helped the Steelers to victory despite being 10-point underdogs. The veteran completed 9 of 12 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions.

The Steelers signed Trubisky in the offseason as the replacement for Ben Roethlisberger, who retired in January following an 18-year career. However, Trubisky was benched in favor of Pickett at halftime of the Steelers’ loss to the New York Jets on Oct. 2.

Journeyman Teddy Bridgewater and rookie Skylar Thompson started in place of Tagovailoa the past two weeks.

The Steelers kept legendary quarterback Tom Brady relatively in check last Sunday. The seven-time Super Bowl champion was 25 of 40 for 243 yards and one touchdown.

The fans have clamored for Pickett since early in the preseason. Now they have him. However, he has been prone to mistakes, while Tagovailoa has really come into his own on the tutelage of McDaniel.

Tagovailoa also has two big-time receiving options in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Hill leads the NFL with 701 receiving yards and his 50 receptions rank second.

Look for the Dolphins to win this one at home, with the passing game being too much for the Steelers to handle.
