Pittsburgh Penguins fans were in boisterous Saturday, even before the Penguins raced to s 2-0 lead and before winger Josh Archibald absolutely ragdolled Washington Capitals defenseman Rasmus Sandin in a late second-period fight.

It was a beatdown by the 5-foot-10, 176-pound fourth-line winger, who rained right hands on Sandin before the defenseman went to the ice and officials stopped the fight.

The Penguins had a lot to gain and a lot to lose Saturday against Washington. The Penguins and their raucous crowd were in rare form, with a playoff spot hanging perilously.

By the early third period, the Penguins built a 3-0 lead, and the game got even chippier.
