WATCH: Sidney Crosby Analyzes His Preseason Game & PP
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby played in his first preseason game this season, Wednesday night against the Detroit Red Wings. Crosby did not miss a beat and scored the Penguins fourth goal. Crosby played with usual linemate Jake Guentzel and newcomer Brandon Tanev, who also scored a goal.
The Penguins beat Detroit 4-2.
Crosby was also part of several new power play looks. PHN asked Crosby if it will take an adjustment period to settle into so many new schemes. In real terms, Crosby downplayed the adjustment period more so than his head coach and said the players can’t overthink it.
The Penguins play their final preseason game Saturday and Crosby is expected to play.
