Week 5 NFL odds have the Kansas City Chiefs as a -5.5 home favorite versus the New Orleans Saints for tonight’s Monday Night Football showdown.

The Chiefs are one of two remaining undefeated teams, and remain Super Bowl favorites according to DraftKings Sportsbook. The Saints have surprised, however, carrying a solid 2-2 record into this primetime matchup.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m from GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Here’s how I’m betting Monday Night Football in Week 5.

The Saints March In

The Kansas City Chiefs are the best team in the NFL right now, and will likely remain atop of most power rankings throughout the remainder of the season. That doesn’t mean they lack vulnerability.

The Saints are playing a brand of balanced football capable of beating any NFL team. Alvin Kamara and the rushing attack will gash your defense for an average of 147.5 yards per game. Derek Carr and the Saints aerial attack featuring Chris Olave are capable of exploding at any time.

The Chiefs do have a great defense, allowing an average of 18 points per game. They are, however, weak on the pass. KC surrenders 227.8 passing yards per game.

They’re also not getting at opposing QBs with frequency, averaging only two sacks per game. This matchup will present problems for the Chiefs defense as the Saints protect Carr well. Carr is taking an average of one sack per game.

As good as the Chiefs defense has been so far, the Saints have been as good or better.

New Orleans is surrendering 17.5 points per game in 2024. They’re also stiff against the run and hold opposing QBs to a 65.9 QB rating.

Patrick Mahomes is the ultimate X factor, and the Chiefs may win this game, but I love the Saints to cover the 5.5 tonight.

Alvin Kamara Over 65.5 Rushing Yards

The Saints RB is having himself a fine season, ranking eight in NFL rushing with 362 total yards after four games. He’s also gone over the 65.5 yard mark in all four games.

I like him to do it again against a Chiefs defense allowing 99 rushing yards per game. Don’t get me wrong, Kamara will find the sledding tough at times tonight. I expect New Orleans to play a typical road game and pound the Chiefs in an attempt to control clock and limit mistakes.

I’ll take Kamara to have a big night tonight in Kansas City.
