Dan’s Daily: NHL Trade Block Breakdown, Rakell Joins Trade Bait

Published

on

Pittsburgh Penguins, NHL trade, Rickard Rakell

Let the NHL silly season begin. For most sports, the silly season occurs outside the actual playing season, but the NHL trade season takes on a life of its own. We have a full NHL trade block breakdown and a couple of names added to the big board. And, we have some actual Pittsburgh Penguins hockey coverage!

I wish actual hockey coverage and analysis did 10x better than a minor trade rumor story, not the other way around, but I digress…

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Kris Letang did his best Allen Iverson impersonation. The Pittsburgh Penguins are really enjoying the compressed schedule.

PHN+: THIS is what Tristan Jarry means for the Penguins.

NHL Trade Talk…

Sportsnet: A complete look at the NHL trade market, categorized, too. Kris Letang and Evgeni Malkin are on the list but only because of the incessant speculation. It’s a real NHL trade block breakdown, and well done.

TSN: Add Rickard Rackell to the official TSN Trade Bait list.

National Hockey Now, and the Rest…

NHL: Next year, you’ll be able to get the NHL package through ESPN+ at a cheaper price than NHL TV. The ESPN-NHL deal “is a win-win-win.”

I’m still angry at Disney since they ruined Star Wars and slapped a content warning label on the Muppets. THE MUPPETS?! I will tolerate a lot of political foolishness from both sides, but you don’t mess with Skywalker and the Frog.

San Jose: Sheng Peng broke the news of the Sharks importing one of their prospects playing in the KHL. And Tomas Hertl described his ordeal with COVID.

For Sheng’s sake, I wish the Sharks would hurry up and turn it around.

Colorado: Colorado Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon is thankfully back on the ice.

Vegas: Get your Golden Grades here! Golden Grades, the defense, the special teams, and Fleury…

NYI: The Islanders quickly sold out their first seven home games.

Philly: The Philadelphia Flyers are human. Here’s the Philly film room of the recent Flyers defensive lapses and “laziness.”

Boston: The Bruins aren’t perfect either. The Boston Bruins offense is sinking.Â
