Collin Graf, the undrafted winger who starred at Quinnipiac University and was pursued by several NHL teams, including the Pittsburgh Penguins, has signed an entry-level contract with the San Jose Sharks.

Graf, from Lincoln, Mass., was a two-time Hobey Baker Award finalist. The 6-foot, 170-pound right-hand shot became a free agent when Quinnipiac’s season ended.

In two seasons at Quinnipiac, he had 43 goals, 108 points in 75 games.

Graf apparently considered turning pro a year ago but returned to college. He is considered close to ready to play professionally.

Graf’s Quinnipiac teammate, forward Jacob Quillan, signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs earlier this week.
