Beau Bennett Tells Cam & Strick Podcast of Kessel Chirping Sid, Malkin vs. Adams Locker Room Fight

Pittsburgh Penguins, Phil Kessel, Evgeni Malkin, Beau Bennett

Former Pittsburgh Penguins first-round pick and notoriously fragile winger Beau Bennett isn’t a shy guy. The former NHL player who built a social media following with self-deprecating humor about his injury history which derailed what could have been a productive NHL career, or a wildly successful AHL stat sheet, dished to the Cam and Strick podcast a few inside scoops on a younger Penguins team including a locker room fight with Evgeni Malkin.

The two-hour podcast with St. Louis radio host Andy Strickland and former NHL’er Cam Jansen isn’t always safe for work, even if you keep the radio at a reasonable volume between 9 and 11, and you told Bill that if Sandra can listen to her headphones while she’s filling you can listen to the radio while you’re collating (Office Space reference).

Bennett (42:00) dished on the impact Phil Kessel made by chirping Sidney Crosby (including Bennett’s Kessel impression). Then Bennett went into the fight between Evgeni Malkin and Craig Adams, which started on the ice and spilled into the Pittsburgh Penguins locker room. Blood was shed and at least one of them needed stitches.

The Spotify link and Apply Play are below. We’re not going to pull quotes and steal their thunder.

The boys did a great interview and Bennett was good too. It’s a fun podcast, check it out and visit CamandStrick.com.

“Beau Bennet was never a real hockey player”… This may be the most laughable take I’ve ever read. The dude was a pretty damn good NHL level player before freak injuries ended a promising career.

You’re a joke bud.

I used to like Beau Bennett, always was rooting for him. all the injuries were so unfortunate but at the same time somewhat comical. Its like he said in the interview, every time i got a little streak of games and scoring he would get some type of freak injury. I really felt bad for him and i am glad that he is doing somewhat okay now.

Interesting . J was aware of the Malkin. – Adams incident from media reports at the time. Didn’t know the reason though, who made Adams the School Marm ? What a Douche move , A Harvard guy pretending he’s a team leader when really he’s the Coaches pet. I like Joe Vitale more after Bennett’s story and reinforces my disdain for Bylsma. Thanks for the link Dan, I never new those guys existed. I enjoyed listening.

Was at a booster club lunch in Tucson and talked to Beau. He pulled the collar of his shirt aside and the dude has bone sticking 3Inches straight up out of his collar bone. Was given a choice by team docs to operate and miss season or heal as is and deal with the pain. He was very good and very popular here. Fragile? Not so much.

Beau was interesting. Not so keen on the homophobia.
