Sullivan Weighs Options to Replace Acciari on Penguins’ Fourth Line (+)

CRANBERRY — The Pittsburgh Penguins knew that Colin White was versatile when they invited him to training camp last fall.

It’s one of the main reasons they asked him to attend it.

And it’s certainly one of the factors that influenced their decision to sign him to a one-year contract when his preseason tryout ended.

Although he hasn’t been much of a factor so far in 2023-24 — he doesn’t have a point in five games with the Penguins — the concussion that has sidelined fourth-line center Noel Acciari has opened a spot in the lineup for White.

However, whether he will be plugged directly into the specific void created by Acciari’s injury when the Penguins visit Minnesota Friday evening remains to be seen.
