on

The Pittsburgh Penguins will hold a prospects development camp July 1-3 at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry.

Twenty-three players — 12 forwards, seven defensemen and four goaltenders — are scheduled to participate. It possible that some players who are selected during the NHL Draft June 28-29 also will be invited.

Forward Sam Poulin, theĀ Penguins’ first-round draft choice in 2019, and defenseman Owen Pickering, their No. 1 choice last year, headline those expected to attend the camp.

Other invitees include forwards Raivis Ansons, Tristan Broz, Luke Devlin, Jordan Frasca, Ty Glover, Jagger Joshua, Zam Plante, Brayden Schuurman, Lukas Svejkovsky, Evan Vierling and Chase Yoder, defensemen Isaac Belliveau, Nolan Collins, Daniel Laatsch, Justin Lee, Thimo Nickl and Carter Schade and goalies Joel Blomqvist, Owen Flores, Taylor Gauthier and Michael Simpson.

The Penguins’ announcement of the camp roster listed Ansons as “injured,” but offered no details.

Seven of the players scheduled to attend are free agents. One of those is Schade, a Mars native who is an alum of the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite program and will be entering his sophomore season at Penn State.
