O’Connor ‘Definitely Ready’ for Full-Time Job With Penguins (+)

Drew O’Connor has a pretty good idea of what it’s like to play for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

He should, considering that he’s done it 32 times during his first two seasons in pro hockey, since signing with the Penguins as a free agent after two years at Dartmouth.

But O’Connor also has appeared in 53 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins’ farm team in Wilkes-Barre during that span, so he never really has locked down a spot on the major-league lineup.

That’s something he’s intent on changing before the regular-season opener Oct. 13 against Arizona.
