Penguins Load Lineup With Vets for Detroit Game

Many of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ most prominent and accomplished players are scheduled to play in their exhibition game against Detroit Tuesday night at PPG Paints Arena.

Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang and Jake Guentzel are among the headliners in the lineup, which includes most of the guys likely to be uniform when the Penguins open the regular season Oct. 13 against Arizona,

The complete roster for the game against the Red Wings, which is set for 7:08 p.m., includes:

GoaliesTristan Jarry, Casey DeSmith.

Defensemen — Brian Dumoulin, Ty Smith, Jeff Petry, Marcus Pettersson, Jan Rutta, Kris Letang.

Forwards — Bryan Rust, Drew O’Connor, Jason Zucker, Rickard Rakell, Kasperi Kapanen, Drake Caggiula, Brock McGinn, Ryan Poehling, Teddy Blueger, Radim Zohorna, Crosby, Malkin, Guentzel. (There are 13 forwards on the list released by the team, so presumably one will be scratched.)

The Penguins, who had a day off Monday, are 1-1 in exhibition play, having split a pair of games with Columbus Sunday.
