Penguins Recall Ponomarev, Two More; Injuries Mounting

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forwards Emil Bemstrom, Vasily Ponomarev and Valtteri Puustinen from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, the team announced Thursday morning.



The Penguins have been dealing with injuries.

Ponomarev has no points in four games at the NHL level this season. He has 15 goals, 40 points with WBS.

Bemstrom has been up and down between the AHL and NHL this season. He has one point, an assist, in 13 games with the Penguins.

Puustinen has one goal, one assist in 10 games with the Penguins. He has 16 goals, 35 assists with WBS.

The Penguins have three games remaining this season, including one Friday in New Jersey.
