PAvel Datsyuk Left), Nikita Gusev Right)

He stands only 5-foot-9 and weighs only 154 pounds. It’s not hard to imagine a strong wintery gust blowing across St. Petersburg, Russia and knocking over Nikita Gusev, the diminutive winger from the Russian army team. But looks can be deceiving. Last season, Gusev popped 82 points in the KHL and was the 2018 league MVP.

Gusev lacks stature but has big creativity and individual skills. His loaded SKA Petersburg Russian team won the gold medal at the 2018 winter Olympics and Gusev was the named the best forward of the tournament.
