Hello & Goodbye, Poulin Sent Back to WBS
Sam Poulin’s third NHL stint was his longest, but still not as long as he would have liked. On Monday, the Pittsburgh Penguins re-assigned Poulin to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins club of the AHL.
Since Poulin was recalled less than 30 days ago and played less than 10 games, he does not need to clear waivers to be re-assigned.
Poulin, 23, was skating with Drew O’Connor and Jesse Puljujarvi on the third line as part of coach Mike Sullivan’s reconfigured lines, but he registered just one assist in six games.
In 12 career games, Poulin has three assists. The Penguins 2019 first-round pick (21st overall) played just three NHL games in each of the previous two seasons.
Monday at practice, Penguins forwards Cody Glass and Blake Lizotte joined the club in non-contact jerseys as part of their recovery from concussions, and Valtteri Puustinen had a primary slot in the Penguins line drills.
It’s time to include him as a throw-in in any future trade…if there are any takers.
Agreed!! We already have plenty of 3rd/4th liners…
Why does this team have such a hard time dealing with the truth? Poulin is a bust. I understand he is unmovable but please stop this nonsense of bringing him up and offering him as a piece of the future to fans that knows much better. It is insulting.
