NHL trade, Evander Kane, pittsburgh penguins

The NHL trade deadline could see some big moves in the Metro Division. The New York Rangers are chasing the big name and kicked the tires this week on Boston Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk. Elliotte Friedman dropped a bit of a shocker on Saturday night when he reported the Washington Capitals are one of the teams interested in signing embattled forward Evander Kane. And we compiled the list of former Pittsburgh Penguins who will play in the Olympics.

Washington: Here you go–here’s the story. Evander Kane and the Washington Capitals?

Sportsnet: It’s Saturday. It’s 32 Thoughts on Hockey Night in Canada. The New York Rangers are players on the NHL trade market for Jeff Chychrun and Jake DeBrusk.

Vancouver: Rob Simpson spoke with the agents for Brock Boeser and Elias Pettersson– what do the agents tell clients who are in the NHL trade rumors?

Calgary: Hockey players are ruthless chirpers. For a week, Andrew Mangiapane has been razzing rookie Rasmus Andersson about his first-goal puck. The Calgary Flames boys are eating it up.

Metro Division:

Philly: The Flyers have lost 11 in a row, but…Claude Giroux’s stock is rising on the NHL trade front.

11 in a row?! That’s packing it in.

Washington: Matt Murray was on his head, and the Senators had a 2-0 lead in the third period, but Washington rallied for a 3-2 OT win. Get the recap and Washington Capitals takeaways.

NYI: The Islanders season is teetering. It’s close to irrelevant. After an even first period, Toronto squashed the New York Islanders.

NY Post: The Penguins can close to within one point of the Metro lead because the New Jersey Devils did a number on Carolina.

The Penguins have an afternoon game against the Winnipeg Jets at 1 p.m. The pregame will drop after 9 a.m., and we’ll have the postgame coverage and video from PPG…
