Dan’s Daily Links: Crosby Drops Stories on Podcast, Markov to NHL?

Published

on

What a locker room the Pittsburgh Penguins had 10 years ago. Sidney Crosby dished a few stories on the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast hosted by former teammates Ryan Whitney and Paul Bissonette. If you’re unfamiliar with the pair, they were the players most likely to be in the middle of the wild stories told over laughter and beer. Elsewhere in the NHL, Dylan Larkin wants to be new captain in Detroit, Andrei Markov wants one more year in the NHL, and there are five teams in desperate need of shedding salary including the Penguins. Spector’s Hockey broke them down.

I enjoyed P.K. Subban’s antics during the 2017 Stanley Cup Final. Sidney Crosby…did not. Have a listen to the full Spittin’ Chiclets podcast with Crosby (Spittin Chiclets)

Or if you would prefer to read a summary of Crosby’s chat, Sportsnet obliged (Sportsnet)

Dylan Larkin wasn’t subtle as he said he is ready to be the new captain of the Detroit Red Wings (NHL.com)

There are five teams over the salary cap who need to drop salary. The Penguins are chief among them, but so are the Buffalo Sabres. How did they get there? Spector’s Hockey breaks down the five teams and recent rumors how they will get under the cap (Spectors Hockey)

Andrei Markov is interested in returning to the NHL and would prefer to do it with the Montreal Canadiens (TSN)

I did another Penguins Live Chat yesterday on our YouTube channel. We had some good fun (Pittsburgh Hockey Now)

My opinion changed somewhat as I watched more film on Alex Galchenyuk. I watched November through January before the show. Then February and March after the show. The full Galchenyuk film study will publish at 9 a.m.
