Pittsburgh Penguins, Radim Zohorna

Pittsburgh Penguins winger Radim Zohorna cleared waivers Wednesday afternoon.

He promptly was assigned to the Penguins’ American Hockey League affiliate in Wilkes-Barre.

While Zohorna is being sent to Wilkes-Barre, defenseman Ryan Shea has been recalled from there.

Shea does not have a goal or assist in 22 games with the Penguins this season, but has been assessed three minor penalties.

Zohorna, 27, has four goals, three assists and 16 penalty minutes in 31 NHL games this season.

His usual spot on the No. 3 line, with Lars Eller and Valtteri Puustinen, was filled by Colin White during Wednesday’s hour-long workout.
