Pittsburgh Penguins, Lake Tahoe NHL games

The sights and sounds were spectacular in Lake Tahoe. The NHL’s real-life version of Mystery Alaska was a roaring success, even if the Colorado Avalanche had to wait until 2 a.m. ET to beat the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday. When will Jack Eichel say enough is enough in Buffalo? Alex Galchenyuk is on his last chance in the NHL, and the Pittsburgh Penguins’ new GM has an urgent challenge to upgrade the Penguins fourth line.

PHN: In the Penguins 3-2 win over NYI on Saturday, head coach Mike Sullivan benched Kasperi Kapanen.

PHN: Sullivan has also not used his fourth line. GM Ron Hextall has an urgent need to upgrade the bottom Penguins line.

The Hockey News: Jack Eichel is wasting away in Buffalo. Things are going sideways yet again for Buffalo. How much longer before Eichel requests a trade?

Sportsnet: Alex Galchenyuk was traded (again) last week. The Toronto Maple Leafs are Galchenyuk’ss last NHL chance.

Lake Tahoe:

The NHL outdoor games created plenty of conversation, and the Hockey Now network was there.

Colorado Hockey Now: Colorado outlasted the Vegas Golden Knights early Sunday morning.

Vegas Hockey Now: Vegas just couldn’t recover against MacKinnon, Avs

Boston Hockey Now: Did you see the amazing, awesome, and awful 1980s Boston Bruins team dress-up, including David Pastrnak’s pink shades?

Philly Hockey Now: The Flyers were treading water until Boston chased Carter Hart.

Philly Hockey Now: God help me, that ugly orange furball known as Gritty is growing on me. Gritty went hunting for Big Foot, snowboarding and had a great time.

The Rest of National Hockey Now

The Penguins squeaked past the Islanders on Saturday. Here’s the Penguins win from the NYI perspective.

The San Jose Sharks are inching towards improvement. Inching…slowly. The San Jose Sharks plan is finally coming together, painfully.
