PITTSBURGH — Dominik Simon darted towards the net and snapped a hard wrist shot over the blocker of Philadelphia Flyers goalie Brian Elliott. Simon had a three-point game, and the tally was Simon’s second this season. The young Pittsburgh Penguins winger from the Czech Republic already has nine points (2g, 7a) in 13 games.

Simon is a low-cost option on the Penguins top line who produces bigger results.

Tuesday night, the Penguins 2015 fifth-round draft pick was one of the stars of the show as the Penguins beat the hated Philadelphia Flyers, 7-1. Before the game was put away and Philadelphia was left hapless, Simon scored a goal and set up Sidney Crosby for another.

Simon isn’t one for many words or amusing stories. There is s still a little bit of a language barrier for Simon, but he spoke to a few reporters after the game, including PHN.
