Sunday Night Football in NFL Week 2 has the Chicago Bears headed to Houston to play the Texans at NRG Stadium. Kickoff is at 8:20 p.m. ET.

Both teams have a lot of star power. You know what they say about Texas—the stars at night are big and bright. There’s no basement in the Alamo.

Here’s how I’m betting SNF in NFL Week 2.

Houston Texans -6.5 (DraftKings)

Chicago Bears rookie QB Caleb Williams didn’t have a great debut. His first game wasn’t even good. Williams went 14/29 for 93 passing yards with no TDs or INTs. He also rushed for a paltry 15 yards.

The Chicago Bears still beat the Tennessee Titans despite not scoring an offensive TD. Yes, the defense is that good, but take away a blocked punt TD and a pick-6, and the Bears lose that game.

CJ Stroud isn’t Will Levis. And that means trouble for the Bears. Levis’ second-half implosion handed the Bears the game. That won’t happen to CJ Stroud, no matter how fearsome the Bears’ front seven is.

Stroud wasn’t magnificent last week against the Indianapolis Colts, but he was effective. He went 24/32 for 234 yards and two TD passes. Add to that RB Joe Mixon’s 159 rushing yards, and you have one of the NFL’s best Week 1 offensive performances.

Running won’t be as easy against a Bears defense that allowed an average of 86.4 rushing yards per game. Stroud will see pressure from Montez Sweat and Darrell Taylor (Taylor recorded two sacks against Indianapolis).

But I don’t think Chicago can score enough to cover this spread.

Chicago Bears Team Total: Under 19.5 (BetMGM)

Remove the pick-six and the blocked punt TD, and the Bears would’ve scored 10 points. QB Caleb Williams may yet reach his first-overall pick potential but likely won’t in Week 2.

WRs Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze appear banged up, with Allen aggravating his lingering heel injury during Week 1.

If Allen and Odunze are less than 100 percent and Williams puts up another below-average performance, Chicago likely won’t hit 20 points. This week’s SNF game could end 17-3 in favor of Houston.
